It's Hard to Find Good Help

 Welcome to the second week of 2025! What a fantastic year this has been so far! And by fantastic, I mean most people are still trying to figure out what the hell is going on. The world has become a crazy place. I think most of this crazy started during 2020 with the whole "COVID" thing. That's way in the past though, and this blog is supposed to be about 2025.  Here in 2025 it's suddenly really hard to find good employees. Actually, it's getting hard to find any employees at all. No one wants to work anymore. And the few people that do want to work, seem to want to just show up and get a paycheck. They don't want to do anything! Is this a real thing? What the hell happened to our society that made all these people so lazy? Here in the lovely US the state of New Jersey passed a law that went into effect January 1, 2025. Welcome to 2025! What have you lost?

 Welcome to 2025! We survived New Year's Eve. At least, I did. I was up watching tv to see the new year arrive. I watched a local television channel so I could see the new year come to Las Vegas. Was it fun? Not really. It was just news casters at casinos going on and on about how fabulous everything was on the Las Vegas Strip. It looked crowded and noisy to me. A lot of stupid people getting drunk who will be found all over hotels passed out in hallways later on. They don't show that part on television.  Anyway, what does the new year mean to me? I spent a bit of time thinking about a few things that we lost. Computer things, really. For 2025 I found something I wanted. I would like a brand new Apple Mac mini with the M4 CPU chip! Those look so neat! I won't be getting one because I don't need it, and there would really be nothing to do with it the the Mac I'm typing this on can't do.  Getting ready for 2025 I can't believe it's almost 2025. It seems like it was just the 1980's! I must really be getting old now. Where are all the flying cars? I saw the movie Back to the Future and Marty traveled to October 21, 2015, and there were flying cars and all kinds of modern things. Where the hell are they? That was over nine years ago! I can't even find a 1980's cafe! We do have some modern things that people were dreaming about back in the 1960's, like running water. Ha ha ha, yes, I'm kidding the really old people! I was born in the 60's. Back then they dreamed of things like "universal translators" so you could talk to anyone. Now we do seem to have some things that can do that.
